From us to you, we wanted to wish all of you a happy Halloween! We hope you enjoyed all of our posts, I’m so damn tired now and if I see another pumpkin anything, I’m going to puke.
Before we take a week break to get caught up on some things, let’s christen this budget Barbie camper of a month with some Shirley Devil Temples!
Keeping your Shirley Temple’s grenadine red is awesome and Halloweeny, but since we’ve been making things black we might as well make the grenadine black too!
Get your drinkware and pour whatever soda you wish; it’s usually a lemon-lime soda, 7-Up or Mountain Dew, however, we had a can of Solo and some lemon lime & bitters chilling in the back of the fridge so.. waste not, want not.
Pour syrup into your glasses slowly then add a squeeze or two of black gel food colouring or to your liking. As it swirls round-and-round it darkens, taking on a purple or green colour!
We really hope you have a happy and safe Halloween, thank you so much for popping around and we’ll see you next week when I come out of Halloween-coma!
Imagine it… sirens are screaming and the fires are howling way down in the valley tonight, there’s a girl in the shadows with a coffin-shaped meatloaf covered in bacon…
That girl is me.
Let’s make a meatloaf.
It’s still October? You mean Halloween hasn’t happened yet and I still have stuff to post???
Today’s post is all about simple stuff for maximum impact.. which is basically the unofficial motto of this site. Is it working smarter not harder? Absolutely not; I don’t feel smart when I’m running on no sleep, TMJ pain and a kid next door dragging something over the wooden deck, all while I attempt to type something remotely coherent.
Aside from all that, we’re going to make a spooky party platter with some props, a lot of ready-made stuff, a few healthy things and – surprisingly – homemade stuff!
I know, I know, it’s another nails post! I was going to add this to the branded nails post and have a Super Mega Nails post but it would have been way too long and the Assistant has been prodded and poked to do a Halloween makeup post so…
I’ll we’ll try to get on that!
For now I want to show you one of my favourite nail looks, dragon-like, reptilian scale nails! All you need is some false nails, Blu-Tack, nail glue, nail file, and nail polish.
It’s time for a Halloween treat, right? Well today I thought we’d make caramel apples, the treat candied apples wished they were. Beautiful, perfect caramel apples. And while they are perfect, they have to be tweaked slightly for the setting of Halloween, so we’re going to paint ’em black!
For this we aren’t making caramel from scratch because you should be well-versed in how I cannot be bothered in doing anything (or to put this in a positive, cool way ‘maximum effect with minimal effort’, so we’re using delicious Werther’s Chewy Toffee caramels.
We’re into the second week of Halloween month and we haven’t done a beauty look yet so let’s do something small that can have maximum impact, branded crosses and scorched nails!
I tried around with different colour combos and so many ways work, but I thought the best ideas can come from what you actually have, so with three popular colours, I’ll show you have to get this effect, plus a little bonus one!
